After the coronavirus pandemic took a turn for the worse in early March, theaters closed their doors across the globe over health and safety concerns. Recently, the likes of Regal Cinemas – the second largest movie theater chain stateside – have teased their reopening plans on social media, but held off on announcing a firm timeline. Currently, movie theaters are part of “Phase 3” of San Francisco’s reopening plans , meaning they wouldn’t reopen until mid-August.
Assuming they stick to that timeline, there’s a strong chance major markets like New York and Los Angeles will follow suit. Theater chains are understandably anxious to reopen their doors this summer.

In order to maintain the integrity of our programs, the recommend audience size is or less. The program content is very powerful and it evokes a lot of emotions. The discussion after the play is highly interactive and requires the participation of the audience. We find that if the audience is any larger, it interferes with the effectiveness of the discussion. When booking a program we ask that you allot for an hour of time.

Every student applying to performing arts programs must pass an entrance audition or interview. If a student does not hear back from the School of Performing Arts within three weeks, they may email performingarts pace. Students submitting pre-screens during this week should expect a longer wait time to hear back regarding the faculty decision. In order to be considered for admission to Pace Performing Arts, students must to attend one of our auditions or interviews.
The audition incorporates elements beyond the requirements of the pre-screen and faculty are not able to make admission decisions without seeing all candidates live. The School of Performing Arts does not audition or interview any student privately or outside of the pre-arranged schedule. The academic admission process occurs separately from the audition process. The academic admission decision may occur before or after the audition or interview with Pace Performing Arts — it all depends on how quickly the student turns in application materials.
On May 1st, deposits are closed to the School of Performing Arts and no new students are admitted or evaluated.
